ASTM A572 carbon steel plate is a high-strength, low-alloy (HSLA) structural steel plate designed for applications requiring greater strength-to-weight ratios than standard carbon steel. The A572 specification covers five grades (42, 50, 55, 60, and 65) with yield strengths ranging from 290 MPa to 450 MPa, making it suitable for bridges, buildings, construction equipment, and transmission towers.
