Product Overview
SS400 (JIS G3101) is a Japanese standard carbon structural steel with a designation meaning: “S” for Steel, “S” for Structure, “400” for minimum tensile strength in MPa. The grade does not specify a minimum yield strength directly (unlike ASTM A36 or EN S235), but typical yield strength is 235-245 MPa for plates up to 16mm thickness. SS400 is broadly equivalent to ASTM A36, EN S235JR, and Chinese Q235B.
