ASTM A285 Gr.C is a carbon steel plate specification for pressure vessel applications at moderate temperatures. It is widely used in the construction of boilers, LPG storage tanks, and process vessels where design pressures do not exceed the limits of carbon steel construction. Quality Assurance
All plates are ultrasonic tested per ASTM A435 (straight beam) or ASTM A578 (angle beam) to ensure internal soundness. Surface inspection follows ASTM A578 Level B. Mill test certificates include ladle analysis, product analysis, tensile test, and UT report. Third-party inspection by SGS, Bureau Veritas, or TUV is available.
Packing and Shipping
Plates are shipped loose or in bundles depending on thickness and quantity. Each bundle is secured with steel strapping and edge protectors. For export, plates are loaded directly in bulk vessel holds or on flat racks for container shipment. Moisture protection includes VCI paper and desiccant packs.
