Carbon steel cold rolled sheet is produced by rolling hot-rolled pickled coil at room temperature to thicknesses typically from 0.3 mm to 6.0 mm. Cold rolling gives the sheet a smooth, scale-free surface, tighter dimensional tolerances, and higher strength through strain hardening. Compared with hot rolled plate of the same chemistry, cold rolled sheet offers superior finish for painting, coating, enameling, and precision forming. Manufacturing Standards

1. What is the difference between cold rolled sheet and hot rolled sheet?
Cold rolled is rolled below recrystallization temperature: tighter tolerance (±0.02 mm class vs ±0.10+ mm), smooth scale-free surface, and higher yield from strain hardening. Hot rolled is cheaper for thickness above ~3 mm where surface finish matters less.
2. Which grade equals SPCC in EN standard?
DC01 is the direct EN 10130 equivalent; DC03/DC04 offer progressively better drawing quality. SAE 1008 chemistry is also commonly certified against SPCC.
3. Do you supply oil-free (dry) sheets?
Yes — dry, passivated-only, or oiled. Dry sheet requires faster turnover or protected storage to avoid rust in humid climates.
