Product Overview
Hot rolled coil is produced by rolling heated steel slabs through a series of roughing and finishing stands to the desired thickness and width. The material is then coiled while still hot. This process yields a scale-covered surface and good formability, making hot rolled coil the most economical flat-rolled product for many applications.

Delivery Conditions
Hot rolled coil is supplied in as-rolled condition as standard. Pickled and oiled (P&O) surface treatment is available to remove mill scale and improve surface quality for painting, galvanizing, or further cold rolling. Tension leveling and skin passing can be applied to improve flatness and shape.

Quality Assurance
Each coil is tested for chemical composition, tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, and hardness. Thickness profile is measured across the full width. Surface quality and flatness are inspected visually and with gauges. Mill test certificates conform to EN 10204 3.1 or 3.2. Third-party inspection is available.
Packing and Shipping
Coils are secured with circumferential steel strapping and wrapped in waterproof paper and protective steel sheet. Edge protectors prevent coil deformation. Coils are loaded eye-to-sky or eye-to-wall depending on vessel configuration. For container shipment, coils are properly blocked and lashed to prevent movement.
