Product Overview
Galvanized carbon steel pipe is standard carbon steel pipe protected by a zinc layer applied by hot-dip galvanizing — combining the structural strength of carbon steel with 40 – 70 years of corrosion protection in atmospheric service. It remains the default choice for water lines, fencing, scaffolding, greenhouses, and outdoor structures where painted pipe would rust through in a fraction of the time. Buyer note: pre-galvanized pipe has an uncoated weld seam strip inside — fine for dry indoor use, wrong for outdoor water service. Specify HDG when in doubt.

- Galvanizing: ASTM A153 (fittings + pipe), ISO 1461 / EN ISO 1461, EN 10240 (internal + external classes)
- Threading: ASME B1.20.1 NPT or BS 21/ISO 7 threads, coupled with malleable iron galvanized couplings
- Testing: hydrostatic test per base pipe standard; zinc adhesion and coating weight per lot
