Carbon steel boiler tubes ASTM A179 and A192 are seamless cold-drawn tubes for heat exchangers, condensers, superheaters and boiler systems. A179 is used for shell-and-tube heat exchangers and condensers; A192 is used for high-pressure boilers and superheaters. Both grades are made from low-carbon steel and finished by cold drawing to obtain precise dimensions and smooth surface finish. The low carbon content gives excellent ductility and weldability, while the seamless construction ensures reliable pressure containment.

A192 contains a small molybdenum addition for improved elevated-temperature strength compared with A179.

Testing and Certification
Every tube is tested hydrostatically or non-destructively. We supply EN 10204 3.1 certificates with chemical, mechanical and dimensional results. Optional tests include eddy-current inspection, ultrasonic testing, flattening, flaring and intergranular corrosion testing.
Packing and Shipping
Boiler tubes are bundled with steel straps, ends capped with plastic or steel, and lightly oiled for rust protection. U-bend tubes are packed in wooden cases with separators to prevent deformation.
