Product Overview

Carbon steel galvanized pipe is carbon steel pipe that has been coated with a protective layer of zinc to prevent corrosion. The zinc coating acts as a sacrificial anode, corroding preferentially to protect the underlying steel. Two primary galvanizing methods are used:

Hot-dip galvanizing (HDG): Pipe is immersed in molten zinc at 450°C, producing a thick, durable coating (typically 55-85 µm, equivalent to Z275-Z600). Best for outdoor and harsh environments.
Pre-galvanizing (Pre-gal): Zinc is applied to the steel strip before pipe forming, producing a thinner, more uniform coating (typically 15-30 µm, equivalent to Z80-Z120). Best for indoor and low-corrosion environments.
