Carbon steel perforated sheet is flat plate or coil punched with a regular pattern of holes for filtration, ventilation, screening, acoustic control, and architectural design. Huaxia-Steel produces perforated carbon steel in thicknesses from 0.3 mm to 12 mm, with round, square, slotted, hexagonal, and decorative hole patterns, in standard and custom pitches, to ISO 7805, ASTM E2740, and customer drawings.

Product Overview

Perforation is performed on CNC turret punch presses or rotary die machines, depending on thickness, pattern complexity, and volume. For thin gauges (0.3–2.0 mm), high-speed rotary perforation delivers clean burr-free holes at up to 200 strokes per minute. For thicker plates (3–12 mm), hydraulic punch presses with tool steel dies produce accurate holes with minimal taper. We supply sheets in standard sizes (1×2 m, 1.22×2.44 m, 1.5×3 m) or cut-to-size panels, and coils up to 1,500 mm wide for continuous roll-forming operations.

Manufacturing Standards and Quality Control

Incoming coil or plate is verified for thickness, flatness, and chemistry. Tooling is inspected before each production run for wear that could cause burr or taper. During punching, first-off and hourly samples are checked for hole diameter, pitch accuracy, burr height, and open area percentage. Burr is controlled to ≤ 0.1 × thickness for standard applications and ≤ 0.05 × thickness for fine filtration. Flatness is restored by roller leveling after perforation. For coated products, coating thickness and adhesion are tested per ASTM D3359 or EN ISO 2409. Dimensional reports include sheet size, hole count, pitch measurement, and open-area calculation.

Packaging and Shipping

Sheets are stacked with interleaving paper or plastic film to prevent scratching, then banded with steel straps and edge-protected with cardboard or wood. Coils are eye-to-wall or eye-to-sky loaded depending on container type. Each package is labeled with material grade, thickness, pattern, open area, sheet count, and weight. For export, we apply rust-preventive oil and VCI wrapping for uncoated material, and padded corner protection for powder-coated or painted sheets to prevent chipping.
