SPCC Cold Rolled Carbon Steel Coil — Factory Direct Supplier | Huaxia-Steel
SPCC cold rolled carbon steel coil is the most widely used cold-rolled steel product in Asia for general fabrication, automotive parts, appliances, furniture, and light gauge formed components. Manufactured per JIS G3141 from hot-rolled pickling-rolled coil (SPHC), SPCC offers a smooth bright surface, tight thickness tolerance (±0.02-0.05 mm), excellent formability, and consistent mechanical properties. Huaxia-Steel supplies SPCC coil directly from JIS-certified Chinese and Korean mills in thicknesses 0.20-3.00 mm, widths 600-1,500 mm, with full JIS-compliant mill test certificates.

Product Overview
SPCC (Steel Plate Cold-rolled Commercial) is the entry-level cold-rolled steel grade in the JIS G3141 system. It is produced by:
- Pickling the hot-rolled coil in HCl acid to remove mill scale
- Cold rolling in a 4-high or 6-high tandem mill to reduce thickness by 50-90%
- Annealing in a continuous annealing line (CAL) or batch anneal to restore ductility
- Temper rolling (skin pass) at 0.5-2.0% reduction to improve flatness and prevent stretcher strain
- Oiling for corrosion protection during storage and shipping
The result is a smooth, dimensionally precise, ductile steel sheet suitable for deep drawing, bending, roll forming, and general fabrication.
JIS G3141 Grade Comparison
| JIS Grade | Type | Yield (MPa max) | Tensile (MPa min) | Elongation (min) | Typical Use |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| SPCC | Commercial | — | 270 min | — (typical 32-40%) | General forming, appliance cabinets |
| SPCD | Drawing | — | 270 min | 34% | Automotive panels, deep drawing |
| SPCE | Deep Drawing | — | 270 min | 36% | Critical deep drawing, stamping |
| SPCF | Extra-Deep Drawing | — | 270 min | 38% | Specialized deep drawing (auto) |
For most import and fabrication applications, SPCC is the default grade. For deep drawing and stamping applications where formability is critical, upgrade to SPCD or SPCE at a 3-8% price premium.

Lower carbon and phosphorus in SPCD/SPCE grades improves deep-drawing formability by reducing yield strength and allowing greater plastic deformation without fracture.
Mechanical Properties (Typical for 1.0 mm SPCC)
- Yield strength: 140-220 MPa (depends on temper mill reduction)
- Tensile strength: 270-410 MPa
- Elongation (50 mm): 32-42%
- Hardness (HRB): 50-75 (annealed) / 75-90 (full hard)
- r-value (plastic strain ratio, SPCE): 1.4-1.8 (indicates deep drawability)
- n-value (strain hardening exponent, SPCE): 0.20-0.24
SPCC is available in three surface conditions: full hard (no annealing, for simple bending only), 1/8 hard, 1/4 hard, 1/2 hard, and annealed (softest, best for drawing). Most general applications use the annealed condition with 1.0-1.5% temper mill reduction for optimal formability and surface quality.
